Today’s poultry market update: reported by Yanbei Group.

Today, egg prices across the nation’s major producing regions continued to stabilize with minor adjustments, averaging 3.78 yuan per jin, essentially unchanged from yesterday. Shandong recorded the highest average at 4.02 yuan per jin, while Liaoning posted the lowest at 3.52 yuan per jin. In the main producing areas, prices remained steady, with slight tweaks in some locales; in the sales markets of Beijing and Shanghai, prices held firm. Currently, relatively high retail egg prices are dampening demand, and end‑consumers are gradually working through existing inventories. Nevertheless, bullish sentiment among producers remains strong, and persistently high temperatures continue to weigh on laying rates, leaving stocks quite low. As a result, egg prices are expected to see modest adjustments in the near term, though there remains potential for a further short‑term rally later on.

White-feathered broiler price trends: Broiler prices have halted their decline and edged up slightly. On August 3, the average live‑bird price in major producing regions stood at 8.58 yuan/kg, up 0.01 yuan/kg from yesterday. The highest price was recorded in Henan and Jiangsu at 8.60 yuan/kg, while the lowest was in Liaoning at 8.56 yuan/kg. Recently, the volume of birds reaching market has remained relatively stable, and slaughterhouses continue to face challenges in securing supplies, prompting flexible adjustments to operating rates. As a result, broiler prices have been volatile, with today’s rebound marking a slight recovery after a period of stagnation. Meanwhile, sales of chicken products have slowed, suggesting that prices will remain subject to ongoing fluctuations.

Broiler chick price trends: Chick prices continue to rise. On August 3, the average price in major producing regions was RMB 3.72 per chick, up RMB 0.07 from yesterday. The highest price was RMB 3.78 per chick in Shandong, while the lowest was RMB 3.67 per chick in Henan. Recently, broiler prices in Shandong and other areas have been steadily recovering, prompting farmers to restock and leading producers to actively expand their flocks. Hatchery sales remain robust, driving continued increases in chick prices; major hatcheries have raised their quoted prices to RMB 4 per chick. As chick prices climb to elevated levels, broiler prices are experiencing volatility, and the pace of further increases in chick prices is expected to moderate.

817 broiler chick prices: On August 3, 2018, the market for 817 chicks remained stable.

817 broiler chicken price: On August 3, 2018, the 817 broiler chicken market price declined by RMB 0.05 per jin.

Cull‑hen price trends: Today, cull‑hen prices across major producing regions nationwide have stabilized, with an average of 4.24 yuan per jin, unchanged from yesterday. Henan recorded the highest average at 4.37 yuan per jin, while Hebei posted the lowest at 4.20 yuan per jin. At present, some local producers are culling older hens at peak prices, but overall culling volumes remain modest. With the upcoming Mid‑Autumn Festival and school‑entrance banquets expected to provide support, cull‑hen prices are likely to continue fluctuating upward.
